HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS Taylor and Dane met through mutual friends when they were 16 and have been together for a decade now.

ROAD TRIP Their first road trip as a couple was to Minneapolis to see friends and a concert. After a day on the town, they returned to their hotel where champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries were waiting in their room. When Taylor turned to ask Dane about it, "He was on his knee and that was that,'' she says. They planned a boho chic wedding with rustic touches.

IT'S FUNNY NOW A few days before the wedding, Taylor's mom shared some advice: “If the cake falls on the ground, just go with it.” Unbelievably, as Dane and Taylor were cutting their cake, the stand toppled and down went the cake. "Thankfully, I caught most of it before it knocked over the candles on the cake table,'' Taylor says. "My cousin's wife, who is a cake decorator, doctored it. We are so thankful our photographer caught the whole thing to give us a good laugh," the bride says.

JUST THE TWO OF US They agree that their first dance was the sweetest moment of the day. "This was the first time the whole wedding day we weren’t mic’d up and could just reflect on the day.''

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS Their instant-photo guestbook was a fun way to see guests' personalities. They had the sweetest favors, too. "My grandma is a fantastic baker, and she made sugar cookies for every guest.''

THEIR FAVORITE GIFT It wasn't something they were given. Rather, it was something they had. "We have a lot of friends and family who have moved to different states. It was nice having everyone together again.''

LAST-MINUTE HELP Taylor thought she could handle the decor for the rehearsal and reception but was relieved when a family friend stepped up at the last minute. Nothing felt rushed and she actually felt very relaxed, thanks to everyone who helped. Don't get upset if things don't go exactly as planned, she says, because at the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life. "Enjoy it and don’t forget to take a moment to breathe and take it all in,'' she says.

BUSY CAREERS Time together is precious because both work long hours, Dane as a teacher and Taylor as a night-shift nurse. Dane, also head girls basketball coach for Bellevue West, says Taylor is beautiful and keeps him level-headed as he works toward his goals. Taylor says Dane is driven, patient, kind and generous with his time, especially as a teacher and coach. "We have been through a lot together, and his positivity is the light in any bad situation," she says. "I can’t wait to see what our future holds.''
