Hello bridal babes and happy Month of Love to you all!
How was everyone's Valentine's Day? Did you get anything super fun and special? Every year, like clockwork, I get the most gorgeous flowers for this holiday. My fiancé always gets flowers from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's (seriously, they have the best flowers!) for my V-day roses. It was pink and white roses this year, and they were darling! And I love how he puts them through out the house in little arrangements, so there is a surprise in every room! I may only get flowers one day out of the year, but Mr. Dressed Up In Love seems to make it just as special each and every time!
And, with it being the Month of Love, it was perfect timing as we received our engagement photos back! I cried tears of joy. They perfectly captured our silly, goofy, and lovey-dovey selves! We are doing two engagement photo sessions with Brett Brooner, and this was round one. We wanted to capture our engagement in front of the Holland Center, where our reception will take place, and we wanted to be sure we timed it while the Gene Leahy Mall lights were on, as that is the backdrop to our evening. It was freeeezing, you guys! Like 10 degrees that day and every time we brushed hands and hugged, I was in pain. My knuckles were pink and my little toes were frigid, but they turned out better than I could have ever imagined! It was a little odd too, because as a fashion & style blogger, I am always the central focus of those blog photos. It's all about looking perfect and posed. But this time, it wasn't about me at all. It was about us. And while I tried to look my very best, I didn't look 100% photo-worthy. I got ready at work with weird harsh lighting and my hair wouldn't curl correctly. I also put on way too much makeup because I was so nervous! But you know what? That's ok! I was happy. I was freezing. I was in love - capturing this amazing moment with my best friend and lover of life.
If you haven't hired a photographer yet, I highly recommend Brett Brooner. He is a joy to work with and so down to earth. No awkward moments were had in the making of these photos!
