Travel could be dangerous Wednesday into Thursday for central and western Nebraska due to a powerful winter storm.

Five inches to 15 inches of snow are possible along with winds gusting to 60 mph. Power outages are possible.

The forecast:

» Blizzard warning for Nebraska Panhandle, Wednesday morning into Thursday evening.

» Near-blizzard threat in central Nebraska, Wednesday afternoon into Thursday evening.

» Wind threat, some whiteout conditions, east-central Nebraska.

» Eastern Nebraska will see winds, but not as severe as the rest of the state.
