I think that having this trip - these four games - has dramatically increased our chances of having a decent season this year. Hoiberg still gets a pass from me this year, as he started with nothing.

JPhuskerfan

depends on how long he waited to apply for a passport. Welcome to adulthood, Akol - take care of your own business.

No worries. Hoiberg gets (or should get ) a free pass this year. It's hard to build something from nothing. Gonna take some time. But if we could give Miles seven years to get to .500, surely we can Hoiberg a season. Or two.

Just another holdover from Riley and Silent E....sounds like moves in the right direction, though.

Interesting article. All you're seeing are the sins of Silent E coming home to roost. My impression is the whole department was toxic under him. Oddly for an NU grad, I'm a bigger basketball fan than football. I disagree with your thoughts about the program under Miles. He was always a .5…

How on earth does Cam Mack "not know if he passed the class" or not? DId he not have any idea - seriously - of his average going into the final? Work - seriously - on that tendency, Chris. It's a bit jarring in a newspaper setting.

Perhaps he did - and that would be a good thing. Little disappointed to see us adding two administrators, but glad we got a new guy for basketball to replace Boehm.

No ever survived in a position of responsibility with less impact and less to show for it. He was the assistant AD for basketball - all the losses land (or should land) ultimately on his desk. And for all that, his knowledge of hoops was limited to being vaguely aware that the floor was m…

Rick...then perhaps you could explain why you're nearly always the first post in the comments on a basketball article? If you don't care about the team I'm unsure why you read and comment on every word the OWH writes. Surely you have better things to do with your time.

Feel good story to be sure. I hope it ends well for Roby. I thought it more than a little ironic that Miles' comment is that he "probably has 40% more to go in terms of development"....I can't see where Miles did much of anything with him. Roby's doing the right thing - take the money NOW…
