UNO hockey coach Mike Gabinet says future bright for Mavs, excited to 'keep growing our program'

UNO hockey coach Mike Gabinet, for the second time in as many seasons at the helm, seemed to squeeze the most out of the Mavs. "I was just really impressed with our guys this year. How many times did we get knocked down to the canvas and we'd just keep getting back up? And, eventually, it's going to be tougher to knock us down."

UNO was in the Frozen Four itself only four years ago. It hasn't qualified for the NCAA tourney since. Mike Gabinet believes the Mavs are on the way back, but said this process is going to take some time. "Funny thing is, people always say success is coming," he said. "Well, North Dakota is not going away. St. Cloud (State) is not going away. Denver is not going away. (Minnesota) Duluth is not going away."
