Mavericks add two frontcourt transfers, including Norfolk product Logan Strom

Norfolk's Logan Strom is transferring to UNO after redshirting at UC Davis this past season.

UNO's basketball roster has gotten bigger, both in size and in number. Former Norfolk standout Logan Strom and Wichita, Kansas, product Brett Barney will join the Mavericks this fall as transfers.

Strom, a 6-foot-8 forward, will have to sit out an NCAA mandated transfer year after redshirting this past season in his only year at UC Davis. He'll have three years of eligibility remaining while at UNO. Strom averaged 16.8 points and 9.1 rebounds in 2016-17 as Norfolk captured its first Class A title in 30 years.

Barney, a 6-9 center, has spent the past three years at Wichita State after going to prep school at Sunrise Christian Academy following his graduation from Maize South High near Wichita. He spent three seasons as a walk-on with the Shockers, redshirting for the first one of them, and has two years of eligibility remaining. Barney will be immediately eligible to play for the Mavs this upcoming season.
