TUCSON, Ariz. — UNO scored five unearned runs on five Purdue errors en route to an 8-5 win Saturday at the Hillenbrand Invitational.

The Mavericks (2-2) also lost 12-2 to No. 13 Arizona late Saturday night.

Trailing 4-2, the Mavericks scored four runs in the top of third inning to take a 6-4 lead over the Boilermakers (2-1).

Kelly Pattison led off the inning with a solo home run, after which UNO loaded the bases following two Purdue errors. Megan May drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to tie the score at 4, and Bailey Schulenberg drove in two more on a double to right field.

UNO added two insurance runs in the sixth.

Sydney Hames had a home run for the Mavericks, and Schulenberg finished 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

Laura Roecker, a freshman from Elkhorn, pitched a complete game for the Mavericks, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out five. It was her first collegiate victory.

UNO will finish the tournament at noon Sunday against Southern Utah.
