Derrin Hansen has spent more than two decades on the Mavs' bench.

Once an assistant coach for the Division II UNO men's basketball program, Hansen is now a Division I head coach and about to lead the Mavs onto the court in the biggest game of his coaching career.

Before UNO takes the court for the Summit League tournament championship game, Hansen sat down with The World-Herald's Mike Sautter to reflect on what the program means to him, what an NCAA tournament berth would do for the program and much more.
