Former UNO, Omaha Central star Tra-Deon Hollins could compete in $2 million basketball tourney

In two seasons with UNO, Tra-Deon Hollins averaged 13.0 points, 6.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game.

The stakes don't get much higher than this.

Former UNO and Omaha Central star Tra-Deon Hollins has a chance to lead his team to a $2 million prize in ESPN's "The Basketball Tournament."

"It would be a really good experience for me and us to play against a lot of really good competition," Hollins said. "I'm excited."

The tournament, which tips in July, is a single-elimination, winner-take-all format. To gain entry into the tournament, teams must finish in the top nine of a fan vote by June 1. Hollins will be playing with many of his Fort Wayne Mad Ants G-League teammates.

"We are going to bring a lot of chemistry and a lot of fun and exciting plays to the game."
