Nebraska baseball: Scene changes in a hurry

Nebraska’s pitching staff met before Saturday’s game against top seed Oklahoma State. Looking out at Bricktown Ballpark, they couldn’t see into the future, but they could see it was a picturesque day for a game. And Husker starter Matt Waldron turned in a brilliant performance. The senior from Omaha Westside struck out a career-high 11 in 7 2⁄3 innings as the Huskers took a three-run lead into the ninth. But the game turned on one swing. Trevor Boone blasted a two-out, three-run homer to give OSU a 6-5 lead it wouldn’t relinquish to send NU into an elimination game Sunday.
