Husker football: Picking up some steam

Though the Huskers would start losing steam (the headline on today’s cover) after this Darrion Daniels interception, the senior defensive tackle’s pick seemed to give Nebraska a big boost. Daniels nearly took it for a pick-six, too. He slipped a couple of tackles after grabbing Jack Plummer’s shovel pass at the Purdue 20-yard line before he was dragged down at the 2. Nebraska settled for a field goal on the ensuing possession to take a 10-0 lead, but failing to score a touchdown would come back to haunt the Huskers in Saturday’s 31-27 loss. NU got inside the Boilermakers’ 5-yard line twice and failed to punch it in.
