College basketball: Almost over that road block

But not just yet. Rutgers guard Geo Baker, center, made sure of that, blocking a shot from Nebraska guard Cam Mack before hitting a last-second 3-pointer to beat Nebraska 75-72. The Huskers have yet to win a road game this season, though they had a good chance against the Scarlet Knights. Nebraska took over midway through the second half, making 6 of 7 shots and forcing four turnovers to take a 67-62 lead with 6:25 left. But Rutgers scored nine straight points in the final 2:45 to put Nebraska away. The loss was the Huskers’ fifth straight and dropped them to 0-7 on the road, but coach Fred Hoiberg was proud of his team’s effort. “We’re definitely moving in the right direction, even though it’s not showing in the win column right now, and that’s all I care about,” Hoiberg said.
