Husker football: Jumping up the charts

Husker fans hope Scott Frost’s high-powered offense will continue at a record-breaking pace. And if Year 1 is any indication, some all-time program marks are likely to fall. Can Adrian Martinez, who broke the freshman record with 3,246 total yards, improve upon his 17 TD passes and 25 total touchdowns? The Husker records are 26 and 33, respectively. His main target is likely JD Spielman, who is 69 catches and 1,100 receiving yards from topping the NU charts in both — and he’s still a junior. On defense, Mohamed Barry is the vocal leader as well as the leader in many statistical categories. The linebacker was also the first Husker to record 100-plus tackles since 2014. Only nine nonseniors from Power Five teams logged more stops than Barry’s 112 last season.
