Husker football: Finding green space

Tight end Jack Stoll's 6-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter — his first TD this season and sixth of his career — was a bit of a rarity for Husker receivers Saturday night. The junior had a clear path to the end zone instead of taking a shot from an Illinois defender, which happened time and again to Husker pass catchers. JD Spielman and Wan'Dale Robinson absorbed several big hits. But they kept getting up. Same goes for the Husker offense. Despite four turnovers, NU racked up 690 yards — the most in Scott Frost's tenure — in the 42-38 win.
