College basketball: Taking shots, and hitting them

Christian Bishop took this blow in the paint, but it would take more than that to detour No. 21 Creighton on Saturday. The Bluejays shot a season-best 60.3% from the floor — their best mark in the Big East in three seasons — en route to a 94-82 victory over St. John’s. Six players scored in double figures for Creighton, which averaged 1.40 points per possession with 21 assists. The win moves the Bluejays into a tie for second place in the Big East, but they are three games behind first-place Seton Hall (18-5, 10-1), which beat No. 10 Villanova on Saturday. Up next for Creighton is a road game against the 12th-ranked Pirates.
