NEBRASKA CITY — Jim White parred the 18th hole at ArborLinks to win his 12th Nebraska Section Professional Championship by one stroke.

White, 63, fired a 3-under-par 69 in Tuesday's final round that tied runner-up Shane Zywiec for the day's low score. The director of golf at West Nine and Learning Center in Lincoln finished 54 holes at 8-under 208.

Going to the final nine, Zywiec led by one but dropped into a tie with a bogey 5 on the 13th. Both golfers birdied the 14th.

White carded a birdie on the par-5 16th, which Zywiec matched on the next hole to be even going to the 18th. A bogey, however, cost Zywiec, a teaching pro at Highlands in Lincoln, a chance to win his first section title.

White's title came on the 35th anniversary of his first championship, in 1978, when he won by eight at the now-closed Highland Country Club in Omaha.

Qualifiers for next year's national club pro championship are White, Zywiec, Chris Wiemers of Happy Hollow in Omaha, PGA Tour official Tom Hearn of Lincoln and Matt Nice of The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa.
