Three of Lincoln’s top amateurs will be in action as boxing makes its return to the Royal Grove.

Middleweight Terrance Coleman, welterweight Roberto Torres and junior welterweight Rouj Talat are slated to headline an 18-bout card at the 2019 Dillon’s Auto Boxing Championships on Saturday night.

All three Lincoln fighters represented the Omaha district at the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions last year at Ralston Arena. Coleman advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.

Torres is set to meet nationally ranked Marcus Davidson of Kansas City, Kansas, and Talat squares off with Damon Bly of Kansas City, Missouri.

Omaha amateurs Edel Gomez, Jose Camacho, Juan Vazquez and Marco Campos are among others expected to appear on the card, organized by Jake Van Lent of Slick Ticket Promotions. The Dillon’s Auto Championships will be his third event. Van Lent promoted similar shows in Seward in 2014 and 2016.As of Friday morning, less than 75 general admission tickets remained. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. They can be purchased at Complete Nutrition in Lincoln or at www.boxing.tix.com.
