Kohl Herbolsheimer

Millard South lineman Kohl Herbolsheimer has eight Division I scholarship offers, including two from the FBS level.

Millard South lineman Kohl Herbolsheimer is one of the state's top uncommitted recruits for the 2020 cycle, but he doesn't want to hold that title much longer.

"I'd like to make a decision to just get everything done with," Herbolsheimer said. "I planned on making a decision at the end of the season but it could be the middle of the season. I don't want to rush it, so I am just kind of waiting to see what happens a little with my senior season."

South Dakota was the first to offer him more than a year ago. The 6-foot-3, 276-pound lineman also has FBS scholarship offers from Wyoming and Texas State, plus FCS offers from South Dakota State, North Dakota, Western Illinois, Illinois State and Jacksonville State.

He hasn't narrowed down his list yet, but he'll likely do that once his senior season gets started in late August.

"I really don't have top schools right now," Herbolsheimer said. "In my mind right now I'm starting to figure things out from the offers I got in the spring and deciding which school I like a lot more."

Herbolsheimer did admit that South Dakota State, Texas State and Wyoming are standing out a little more than the rest.

"I've been talking to Texas State and Wyoming a lot," Herbolsheimer said. "I plan on taking an official to Texas State and one to Wyoming for sure. I'm not sure if I'll take an official to South Dakota State or not because I've been there about five times."

Herbolsheimer, a 2018 All-Nebraska first-team offensive lineman, is a three-year starter on the defensive line and a two-year starter playing both ways for the Patriots.

He set the school record in December with a 355-pound hang clean. He has a 5.16-second 40-yard dash, 26.5-inch vertical jump, 1.78-second 10-yard dash and can bench press 225 pounds more than 25 times.

Most of the schools are recruiting him as an interior offensive lineman at the next level.
