Wahoo Neumann junior Caden Johnson has put himself on the radar of college recruiters.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive lineman has four FCS scholarship offers and is also getting interest from Nebraska and Iowa. His offers come from South Dakota, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and North Dakota.

He unofficially visited FCS power North Dakota State last week and liked what he saw from the Bison.

"It's a really nice campus and has really good coaches," Johnson said. "Obviously they are used to winning."

Distance from home will not be a factor for Johnson. He's looking for a culture of winning and a positive family-type culture. He plans to be a pre-med major.

Johnson has a few more visits planned this spring. He will attend South Dakota State's junior day on Friday. He also hopes to check out Nebraska, Iowa and Northern Iowa.

Ideally he would like to have his college decision made prior to his senior season, but he'd be comfortable if his recruitment carries into the fall. In the meantime he has been working on his craft while participating in track.

"I am focusing on the little details," Johnson said. "Whether it is hand placement or getting my footwork right, I want those things down to a science before the season starts in August."
