Three players from the recent Nebraska Shrine Bowl will be in Saturday’s Sertoma Eight-Man All-Star Game at Hastings College.

Lane Edis of Mullen will be on the West team, and Edwen Baptista of Friend and John Christensen of Bruning-Davenport/Shickley are playing for the East.

Kickoff is 6 p.m. at Lloyd Wilson Field. At halftime, the 17 members of the previously announced Eight Man Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame class will be inducted.

Six-Man Shootout on Saturday

Chadron State College is the new permanent host for the Six-Man Shootout between Nebraska and Wyoming. The eighth annual game will be Saturday at 6 p.m. MDT and televised by News Channel Nebraska.

Wyoming leads the series 4-3 after winning 16-14 in Albion last year. Nebraska’s team includes players of the year AJ Jenkins of state champion Wilcox-Hildreth (offense) and Colton Leslie of Spalding Academy (defense).

Gatorade honors Raabe

Reagan Raabe of Class A state champion Millard West is the state’s Gatorade player of the year in girls soccer.

The junior, who is planning to graduate early to enroll at Nebraska, had 21 goals and 11 assists and was the captain of the All-Nebraska team.
