Anthony Bratton, who left Omaha Westside after two games this season, enrolled Tuesday at Omaha Burke and is eligible to play immediately for the Bulldogs.
Omaha Public Schools spokeswoman Monique Farmer confirmed Bratton’s enrollment. NSAA Executive Director Jim Tenopir confirmed that Bratton, as an option enrollment student (at Westside) returning to his home school district (OPS), is eligible at his new school.
Bratton’s family wanted him to go to Omaha South but was told the school was at full capacity and would likely be for the second semester as well.
Burke, too, is at capacity, but his family lives in its attendance area — a younger sister attends Burke — and thus he was guaranteed enrollment there.
Burke’s next game is in the Metro Conference Holiday Tournament against Bellevue West on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. at Ralston Arena.
