Kansas City at Chicago Cubs, 3:05 p.m., FSN: The Royals have lost four straight, but they’ll look to continue their strong 4-1 start to interleague play. Edinson Volquez (4-3, 2.77 ERA) was on the mound the last time Kansas City won, a 3-2, rain-shortened victory over the Cardinals. Jake Arrieta (4-4, 2.95) went at least seven innings in his last two home starts.
L.A. Dodgers at St. Louis, 7:15 p.m., MLB: After being called up a few weeks ago, the Dodgers’ Mike Bolsinger (3-0, 0.71) has been stellar in his four starts. In his last outing, Bolsinger gave up a leadoff single to the Padres before retiring the next 23 batters. John Lackey (2-3, 3.18) has gone at least six innings in every outing at Busch Stadium this season.
Tampa Bay at N.Y. Rangers, 7 p.m., NBCSN: Ho-hum, another Game 7 for New York. A win sends the Rangers to their second straight Stanley Cup Finals, and it would also be their fifth straight victory in an elimination game this postseason. New York has won seven consecutive Game 7s at Madison Square Garden dating to 1992.
