WICHITA, Kan. — Derrick Bernard threw for 191 yards and six touchdowns as Omaha routed Wichita 70-33 Saturday in Champions Indoor Football.

Bernard completed 15 of 26 passes and threw touchdowns to five receivers as the Beef (6-1) scored a season-high point total. The previous high for Omaha was 47, which the Beef eclipsed early in the third quarter on Bernard’s 8-yard touchdown pass to Kayne Farquharson.

Javon Bell had six catches for 101 yards and two scores for Omaha, which won its fifth straight.

Bernard threw three touchdown passes in the first half as the Beef built a 36-13 lead.

Omaha will host Oklahoma next Saturday at 7 p.m.
