ANCHORAGE, Alaska — UNO got a pair of goals from Tyler Weiss as the Mavericks and Alaska Anchorage played to a 3-3 tie late Friday night in the final game of their series.

UNO never trailed as Zach Jordan scored 52 seconds in off assists by Brandon Scanlin and Ryan Jones. It was his team-best fourth goal this season.

After Anchorage tied it with five minutes left in the first period, UNO regained the lead on a power-play goal by Weiss in the second period. Scanlin and Kevin Conley were credited with assists.

Anchorage answered with a short-handed goal less than two minutes later, but Weiss gave the Mavs the lead heading into the third with an unassisted goal.

UNO kept the lead for more than 20 minutes before being called for high sticking with 7:13 left. Tanner Schachle scored 12 seconds into that power play.

The Mavs killed a penalty in overtime and claimed the tie.

Isaiah Saville, who is from Anchorage, made 31 saves with 16 coming after the second period.

UNO, which won the opener 4-3 Thursday, comes home with a 4-1-1 record. The Mavs host Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday.
