A pair of big innings doomed UNO on Thursday as Northern Colorado swept a doubleheader with the Mavericks 9-4 and 7-3.

The Mavs (1-14) led 4-3 going into the eighth inning of the first game, but the Bears (8-9) rocked UNO reliever Cal Hehnke for six runs.

Riley Herold was 2 for 4 with two RBIs for UNO.

UNO took a 1-0 lead in the second game, but the Bears scored five in the third.

Cole Thibodeau was 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Mavs.

The teams’ scheduled finale Friday has been postponed.
