Nebraska had five more individuals and a relay qualify for the NCAA championships Saturday at the West Preliminaries in Sacramento, California, where the top 12 finishers in each event advanced.
In field events, Mayson Conner of York placed fifth in the high jump by clearing 7-1. Burger Lambrechts finished seventh in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 63-6.
On the track, Luke Siedhoff was sixth in the men’s 110-meter hurdles in 13.73 seconds, Chanel Freeman placed ninth in the women’s 100 hurdles (13.20) and George Kusche was seventh in the 1,500 (3:41.49).
The women’s 400 relay qualified with a season-best time of 44.61.

The Nebraska 100, originally selected in 2005 and then updated and re-ranked in 2015, came from a pool of nearly 500 names from the ranks of high school, college, amateur and professional sports from the past 140 years. Assistance came from a panel of veteran sports observers from across the state, with the newspaper's sports staff determining the final rankings.
