Nebraska coach Scott Frost played closer on Wednesday, having an in-person meeting with East Mississippi Community College defensive end Julius Coates, a 6-foot-6, 275-pounder who could help the Huskers' defense immediately next season.

Coates is currently committed to Colorado, but he visited Lincoln for the Black Friday game against Iowa. He's also originally from Rockford, Illinois, in the Big Ten footprint.

Frost was scheduled to hit the Atlanta metro area Wednesday night, which would bring him in proximity of several recruits. That includes NU defensive line commit Marquis Black — who attends Eagles Landing Christian Academy southeast of the city — his teammate, receiver Justin Robinson — currently committed to Georgia — and defensive end Jared Ivey (Suwanee, Georgia).

According to World-Herald confirmations and recruiting reports, NU will host at least three official visitors this weekend: defensive tackle Jordon Riley (Garden City CC), outside linebacker Eteva Mauga (Diablo Valley CC) and pass rusher/Tennessee commit Jimari Butler (Mobile, Alabama).
