Alonzo Moore

Nebraska's Alonzo Moore breaks a tackle attempt by BYU's Matt Hadley and runs in for a touchdown.

Wide receiver Alonzo Moore enjoyed his chance to showcase his improvement during the first half of Nebraska’s 33-28 loss to BYU on Saturday. Now he wants to do more.

The junior from Winnfield, Louisiana, didn’t play after halftime because of an undisclosed foot injury. He had a boot on his right foot after the game.

But when Moore was in the game, he displayed the quickness and elusiveness that helped him stand out during preseason camp.

Moore had three receptions for 48 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown on a screen pass in the first quarter. Moore also took two jet-sweep handoffs for 24 yards — a play that he said fits him well.

“I’m just trying to take the coaching and put it out on the field,” he said.
