Stanley Morgan, JD Spielman among Huskers not playing in spring game

Stanley Morgan broke records during his junior season but won't be on the field for the spring game.

LINCOLN — Not every Husker got a chance to showcase themselves to fans and coaches during the spring game.

At least 15 players weren't be available for the game, according to the game day roster and on-field observations.

Among the most high-profile absentees are receivers Stanley Morgan and JD Spielman, running back Tre Bryant and offensive linemen Cole Conrad and Michael Decker on offense. Defensively, projected fall starters out include defensive lineman Mick Stoltenberg and linebacker Luke Gifford.

Others out on defense include defensive back JoJo Domann, linebacker Sedrick King, defensive lineman Ben Lingenfelter and defensive back Jeramiah Stovall. Also out on offense is running back Brody Belt.

Long snapper Jordan Ober and punter Jackson Walker are out as well.​
