Khalil Davis isn't the Huskers' only top athlete.

Though the redshirt freshman took home the Husker Power Football Athlete of the Year award, several of his teammates performed well in the various events that comprise the competition. In a blog posted on the Huskers website, individual leaders were included for the vertical jump, 10-yard dash and pro agility run.

Those results are combined to create an overall performance index. The field was then cut down to five finalists who participated in a squat competition to determine the winner. That's where Davis came out on top.

But several of his teammates that didn't make the finals are worth mentioning as well. Below are some of the leaders from each event, according to Huskers.com:

Performance index leaders: LB Marcus Newby, TE Trey Foster, QB Tommy Armstrong

Vertical jump leaders: CB Joshua Kalu, RB Devine Ozigbo, QB Tommy Armstrong

10-yard dash leaders: OL Tanner Farmer, LB Marcus Newby, DL Greg McMullen

Pro agility run leaders: TE Trey Foster, RB Mikale Wilbon, RB Terrell Newby

No times or numbers are included because those wouldn't tell the whole story. The performance index takes into account height and weight so that all players are on an even playing field.

Of note, 13 Huskers scored at least 500 points on each of the three tests. Additionally, 36 Huskers improved their performance index score by 100 points or more during winter conditioning.

Spring practices start Saturday.
