The World-Herald is counting down the top 50 Nebraska players you need to know heading into the 2017 season.

David Knevel

6-9  |  315  |  Senior  |  RT

Knevel and Husker coaches were ready to see what he could do over the course of a full slate of games at right tackle last season before an ankle injury against Oregon hampered his play in multiple contests, forcing him to miss three games late in the year.

Knevel’s health going forward is important as Nebraska continues to develop O-line depth and because his chief competition, Cole Conrad, is vying for the starting center spot. There’s also an intangible leadership challenge for the native Canadian and fifth-year program contributor, who will break fall camp as the only senior projected to receive playing time on a line chock-full of young talent.
