For a second straight year, Nebraska running backs coach Ryan Held is one of the nation’s top 25 recruiters, according to Rivals.

Held was the primary recruiter on all three of NU’s running back signees — Dedrick Mills, Ronald Thompkins and Rahmir Johnson. He also gave a big assist to NU flipping Wandale Robinson, the top recruit in Nebraska’s 2019 class, from Kentucky, his home state.

Held, also an area recruiter in the Midwest, helped land Oklahoma wideouts Jamie Nance and Demariyon Houston.

Held was a teammate of Scott Frost’s at Nebraska. He spent most of his coaching career at smaller schools and junior colleges before joining Frost’s staff at Central Florida in 2016. He then followed Frost to his alma mater.

Former Husker quarterback Mickey Joseph, who coaches receivers at LSU, also made the Rivals’ top 25 list.
