Jerald Foster

Jerald Foster started every game at left guard over the last two seasons.

A pair of former Husker football players signed as undrafted free agents with NFL teams after going through rookie minicamp tryouts over the weekend.

Offensive lineman Jerald Foster signed a deal Sunday with the Washington Redskins, and defensive lineman Freedom Akinmoladun inked with the New York Giants on Monday.

Foster was a two-time team captain and started all 24 games at left guard during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Lincoln native was named Nebraska's offensive lineman of the year in 2018.

Akinmoladun started all 37 games at defensive end from 2016-18. He finished his Husker career with 106 tackles and 12 sacks.

They join other former Huskers who signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents: Stanley Morgan (Cincinnati Bengals), Luke Gifford (Dallas Cowboys), Devine Ozigbo (New Orleans Saints), Dedrick Young (Cleveland Browns) and Aaron Williams (Arizona Cardinals).

Nebraska did not have a player selected in the 2019 NFL draft, snapping a streak that started in 1963.
