Former Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong was named the Indoor Football League’s rookie of the year Wednesday.
The Nebraska Danger quarterback threw 37 touchdown passes in his first season, good for fourth in the 10-team IFL. His 128.5 passing yards per game ranked fifth. The Danger finished the regular season in fifth place at 7-7.
Armstrong started 44 games for NU from 2013 to 2016. He ranks first in school history in career passing yards, passing completions, touchdown passes and career total offense.
