A former Husker linebacker is getting his shot at the pros with the lights shining at their brightest.

Trevor Roach, an Elkhorn grad and former NU walk-on, was added to the Cincinnati Bengals' active roster on Monday. The move was made in conjunction with the Bengals placing linebacker Emmanuel Lamur — who played in all 16 games this season, starting two contests — on the injured reserve list.

Roach, a 6-foot-2, 237-pound linebacker who had 77 career tackles in 22 games at Nebraska, went undrafted in 2015. He played in four preseason games, recording 12 tackles, before spending the season on the Bengals practice squad.

That makes Cincy's wild card matchup with Pittsburgh on Saturday his first NFL game.
