Bust out the bratwursts, college football fans — the Big Ten Network will soon be bringing a new kind of tailgate to a campus near you.
In what it calls "the largest programming initiative in network history," BTN will debut a 90-minute college football pregame road show in 2016. The show, called "BTN Tailgate," will begin at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday during conference play and will broadcast from a different Big Ten campus each week.
The show will feature game previews, highlights, special guests and analysis from BTN's Dave Revsine and Gerry DiNardo and former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams.
The first scheduled episode will air live Sept. 24 from East Lansing as Wisconsin takes on host Michigan State. No other locations have been announced.
Husker fans will no doubt embrace the opportunity to bring the new show to campus. ESPN's College GameDay national pregame show — unmatched when it comes to pregame shows generating buzz on campus — hasn't visited Lincoln since Sept. 15, 2007, when No. 14 Nebraska hosted top-ranked USC. The Trojans won that game 49–31.
GameDay was hosted on four Big Ten campuses in 2016.
