After receiving votes in the AP poll released earlier this week, Creighton also appeared on some ballots of those voting in the coaches poll.

Creighton earned 13 points in the coaches poll, good for 33rd. The Jays placed in the equivalent of No. 40 in the AP poll.

No. 10 Villanova is the highest ranked Big East team in the coaches poll. Other conference teams include No. 13 Seton Hall, and No. 21 Xavier. Marquette, Providence and Georgetown also received votes.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott does have a vote in the coaches poll.

Creighton will begin the regular season on Nov. 5. It hosts an exhibition game against McKendree on Nov. 1.
