College of St. Mary wins twice at DWU Invitational

MITCHELL, S.D. — The College of St. Mary moved to 4-3 with two wins Saturday at the Dakota Wesleyan Invitation at the Corn Palace.

In the opening match, the Flames defeated host Dakota Wesleyan 25-20, 23-25-25-22, 25-23. Mallory Babic had 17 kills for CSM, and Shelby Easley added 41 set assists.

The Flames then defeated Dakota State 25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 29-27. Easley had 45 set assists, while Bayle Collins led the Flames with 23 digs and Babic added 20 kills.

The College of St. Mary will next play at home on Friday, when the Flames host Southwestern College at 3 p.m. and Beuna Vista at 7 p.m.
