SAN ANTONIO — Four San Antonio pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Missions blanked the Storm Chasers 3-0 Friday night.

It’s just the second time this season that Omaha has been shut out. The other came April 21 at New Orleans.

One of Omaha’s few scoring chances came in the eighth inning when Brett Phillips and Humberto Arteaga had back-to-back two-out singles with the Chasers trailing 2-0. But Jecksson Flores grounded out to end the threat. The Chasers were 0 of 4 with runners in scoring position.

San Antonio’s Travis Shaw tacked on a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth.

Omaha opener Josh Staumont took the loss as he allowed a run while working the first two innings.

Omaha, which had won five of its previous six games, continues its series with San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
