DES MOINES — Jorge Bonifacio stayed hot, hitting two solo home runs to help Omaha defeat Iowa 5-2 Sunday.

Leading 2-1, the Storm Chasers took control with a three-run seventh inning.

Bonifacio led off with his second homer of the day. Two outs later, Nick Dini hit his third homer in four games. After a Jecksson Flores single, Brett Phillips capped the rally with an RBI triple.

Bonifacio, who had been mired in a slump since the start of the season, is 8 of 17 with four homers and seven RBIs his past four games, raising his average to .189.

Four Chasers combined on a six-hitter.

Jake Kalish (2-2) pitched four innings in the middle of the game to earn his second win this month. Kevin McCarty struck out the side in the ninth for his second save.

Omaha and Iowa continue their series at noon Monday.
