NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jorge Bonifacio hit a three-run homer to lift Omaha to a 5-2 win over Nashville on Thursday night.

Frank Schwindel also homered for the Storm Chasers (13-14), who won their third straight and their fourth in their past five games.

The Chasers trailed 2-0 when Erick Mejia and Cheslor Cuthbert led off the top of the seventh inning with back-to-back doubles.

Schwindel followed with a single to put runners on first and third with no outs.

Bonfacio then drove a 1-0 pitch from Nashville starter Seth Maness, who had allowed one hit through the first six innings, over the left field wall for his third homer of the season to put the Chasers ahead 4-2.

Schwindel hit his first homer this season in the ninth. Schwindel is 7 of 22 over his past six games after starting the season 6 of 43.

Chasers starter Heath Fillmyer scattered two hits and two runs in six innings while striking out eight to improve to 1-1.

Kevin McCarthy pitched a perfect 11⁄3 innings and struck out two to earn his first save.

Nashville struck first on Eli White’s RBI single in the first inning. The Sounds added another run on Willie Calhoun’s solo homer in the bottom of the sixth.

Omaha shortstop Nicky Lopez went 0 for 3, snapping his eight-game hitting streak.

The Chasers will return home Friday to open a four-game series against the Iowa Cubs.
