  • 0

Erick Mejia homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give Omaha a 6-5 walk-off win over Memphis on Saturday night.

Mejia, who was hitless in his previous four at-bats, drove a 2-2 pitch from reliever Mike Mayers over the right-field wall for his fourth homer of the season — and first since June 5.

Eight batters had at least one hit for the Storm Chasers (46-54), who picked up their fourth win in five games despite blowing a 5-0 lead. Brett Phillips added a three-run homer to highlight a four-run fourth.

Omaha starter Foster Griffin struck out nine in 6⅔ innings. He held the Redbirds scoreless through six before allowing two runs in the seventh.

Memphis tied it 5-5 on Ramon Urias’ three-run homer off Kyle Zimmer in the eighth. The series continues Sunday at 2 p.m.
