Cheslor Cuthbert and Bubba Starling's RBI doubles lift Storm Chasers over San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — Cheslor Cuthbert and Bubba Starling delivered RBI doubles in the fifth inning, lifting the Omaha Storm Chasers to a 3-2 win over San Antonio on Thursday night.

Cuthbert broke a 1-1 tie with his ground-rule double to center field. Two batters later, Starling brought home Cuthbert with his double to center.

San Antonio scored an unearned run in the sixth to pull within 3-2, but three Omaha relievers combined to allow two hits the rest of the way.

Scott Blewett worked into the sixth inning to earn his first win since April 14. Blewett had lost his previous five starts.

Richard Lovelady struck out the side in the ninth for his second save.

The Chasers, 5-1 this week, continue their series at San Antonio on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
