The Washington Street bridge in downtown Papillion will be closed to drivers next weekend.

The bridge, which starts at First and Washington streets, will be completely closed to traffic starting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 18. It will reopen on Sept. 21.

Drivers are encouraged to use the following detour routes:

• Northbound — West on Lincoln Street, north on 96th Street and east on Sixth Street to return to Washington Street.

• Southbound — East on First Street, south on 82nd Street and west on Cedardale Road to return to Washington Street.

In case of inclement weather, the project will be rescheduled to the following weekend, Sept. 25 through Sept. 28.
