To encourage reading through the summer, the Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation is working with several area elementary schools to keep their libraries open for the summer.

All students from incoming kindergartners to outgoing sixth graders whose home is located within the Papillion La Vista Community Schools district are invited to participate.

The summer library 2019 schedule:

Bell Elementary - Wednesdays, June 12 to July 24, 9 a.m. to noon.

La Vista West Elementary - Wednesdays - June 12 to July 17, 1 to 4 p.m., Fridays — June 14 to July 19, 9 a.m. to noon.

Patriot Elementary- Tuesdays, June 11 to July 23, 9 a.m. to noon, 10:30 a.m. Story time.

Prairie Queen Elementary - Tuesdays, June 11 to July 23, 9 a.m. to noon, Thursdays, June 13 to June 25, 1 to 4 p.m.

Walnut Creek Elementary - Thursdays, June 6 to July 18, 9 a.m. to noon.

Also during the summer months there will be free breakfast and lunch provided to children ages 1 to 18 through the PLCS Summer Food Program.

The meals will be served at the La Vista West Elementary gymnasium from June 10 to July 11 (excluding July 4), Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will be served from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Menus for the meals can be found on the district website at plcshools.org. Parents accompanying a child will also eat for free.
