What do you teach? Third grade.

Experience: I have taught for 10 years now, the last seven years teaching at St. Columbkille.

Who or what influenced you to be an educator? My grandma influenced me to be a teacher. She was a special education teacher for 45 years. My grandma was so creative and had the best books.

How do you spend your summer vacation? Nowadays I spend my summer vacation with my three little ones at home. We go swimming, draw with chalk and read a lot of books.

What’s the most rewarding part of being an educator? The most rewarding part of teaching is when you can tell the students understand something new. Their eyes light up and they get all excited. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing you are the one that helped them get there.

If I weren’t a teacher I’d be… If I weren’t a teacher I would stay home with my kids and be an author who writes children’s books!
