Man shot at Radio Shack

An 18-year-old man was shot in the thigh after an armed robbery Tuesday night at a Radio Shack store in Papillion.

An employee was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition after he was shot in the thigh during an armed robbery at a Radio Shack store in Papillion.

The incident occurred about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at 802 Tara Plaza, just east of 84th Street.

The 18-year-old was one of two employees in the store when between two and four men — all wearing masks and dressed in black — entered and demanded cash and other items, said Papillion Police Chief Leonard Houloose.

Houloose said the shooting victim was expected to make a full recovery. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery. No one else was injured.

The last shooting in Papillion occurred November 2010, said Papillion Police Lt. Chris Whitted.

The store was closed Wednesday, an employee at the store said. The location will reopen Thursday.
