Prowler First Person View is hosting a drone race Thursday at Papillion City Park, Washington and Lincoln streets, as part of its weekly racing series. The race setup is at 5 p.m. with races beginning at 6 p.m. Race viewing is open to the public.

The cost to race is $10 for non-members of Prowler FPV and $5 for members of the club.

Prowler FPV is the local Multi-GP drone racing chapter for Omaha and surrounding communities including Council Bluffs, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Ralston, Gretna, Elkhorn and Bennington.

Mike Lollis, club president, said anyone with an FPV race drone and a current Academy of Model Aeronautic (AMA) membership can participate.

Eric Woerth, board member of Prowler FPV, said pilots must be signed up to race by midnight tonight, Wednesday. Woerth said this deadline gives the race coordinator time to arrange pilots as the club tries to keep pilots grouped by skill.

“We try to start practice rounds at or close to 6 p.m., and usually race as many rounds as possible before dark,” Lollis said.

To sign up for a race, register for a free account at multigp.com. Then sign up for the race on the Prowler FPV group page.
