The Papillion City Council approved the city’s final labor union agreement last week.

The four-year agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 19 was unanimously approved at the May 5 meeting.

The council approved agreements with the Papillion firefighters union, IAFF Local 3767, and the Papillion Classified Employees Association, also known as the public works union, in early March.

Under the agreement, wages will increase an average of 3 percent annually over the next four years.

Wages will increase 4 percent this year, 3 percent next year, 3 percent in 2017 and 2 percent in 2018.

Union members will pay 11 percent of their annual health care premiums on a $500 deductible.

Pay and health care items are the same as the other two union contracts.

The police contract expired on April 19. The new contract lasts through April 19, 2019.
