Papillion-La Vista South and Papillion-La Vista finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while a Titan took the No. 2 singles title in the Metro Conference Tournament last week.

The Titans tallied 25 points while the Monarchs notched 20.5 points. Bellevue West placed eighth with nine points, Bellevue East finished 10th with eight points and Bryan wrapped up a 12th-place finish with four points to round out the ITG teams.

Marian won the team title with 38 points.

Papio South’s Leah Palensky clutched a No. 2 singles title with wins over Bryan’s Brianna Zubia, Bellevue West’s Brooke Hosick, Millard North and then Marian in the final.

After Zubia’s loss to move to the consolation bracket, she defeated Omaha Northwest before falling to Millard South. Hosick defeated Omaha South in the first round before losing to Palensky. She came back with wins over Omaha Central and Elkhorn South to place fifth in No. 2 singles.

Papio’s Madeline Vejvoda beat Omaha Northwest and Elkhorn South to advance to the semifinals, where she lost to Marian. The senior rallied back and beat Millard North to place third in No. 2 singles.

Bellevue East’s Angela Palmquist battled through the consolation bracket to finish as the No. 2 singles consolation champion. Palmquist lost to Central in the first round before beating Benson, Omaha South and Millard South.

Papio’s Olivia Boudreau placed third in No. 1 singles by defeating Elkhorn South 5-4 in the third-place match.

Boudreau beat Bellevue East’s Sophie Timmins in the opening round then beat Central in the second round before losing to runner-up Millard North in the semis.

After Simmons moved to the consolation bracket, she defeated Bellevue West’s Gabby Jocson before losing to Bryan’s Olivia Rickley in the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Rickley won the consolation championship to place seventh with a win over Millard South.

Sarah O’Malley placed fifth in No. 1 singles with a win over Omaha South before losing to Elkhorn South in the quarter finals. O’Malley responded by defeating Westside and Millard West to finish the tournament.

In No. 1 doubles, Papio South’s Dani Lawrence/Jackie Vote advanced to the semifinals with wins over Omaha Northwest and Papio’s Mia Jarecki/Abigail Meyer before falling to eventual champion Elkhorn South. The duo responded to beat Marian for a third-place finish.

Jarecki/Meyer beat Omaha North before falling to Papio South and Westside.

Bellevue East’s Ellie Foral/Makenna Johannsen and Bellevue West’s Heather Richard/Annika Sjostedt squared off in the No. 1 doubles consolation championship. Foral/Johannsen fell to Westside in the opening round before beating Bryan’s Alexis Poledna/Ana Gonzalez and Omaha North to advance to consolation final.

Richard/Sjostedt lost to Millard South and then responded with wins over Benson and Burke. In the consolation championship, Floral/Johannsen defeated Richard/Sjostedt.

In No. 2 doubles, Papio’s Sofia Hurst/Chloe Paschal finished in fifth place. The pair defeated Benson before losing to Elkhorn South in the second round. They then beat Westside and Millard North for the fifth-place finish.

Bellevue East’s Lillie Mixan/Taylor Meyers lost to Millard North before knocking out Bryan’s Luiza Tejeda/Sophia Rubenstein, Omaha South and Burke to advance to the consolation championship, where they lost to Millard South.

Bellevue West’s Casia Dotzler/Mak Sobczyk defeated the Bryan duo in the opening round and then beat Millard North before falling to Marian in the semifinals. The duo placed fourth with a loss to Elkhorn South in the third-place match.

Papio South’s Macey Glazebrook/Emma Farson moved past Burke in the opening round before back-to-back losses to Marian and Millard North, respectively.

The Class A State Tennis Championships are set for 9 a.m. Thursday at Koch Tennis Center. The first day will go up to the semifinals before the tournament finishes Friday.

The Rams and Cougars each totaled 12 points. Kyli Hanna of Gross placed third at No. 1 singles for the top showing of the area players.

Noelle Phillippi and Briana Orellana combined for three wins at No. 2 doubles for Ralston.

The Class B State Tennis Championships are set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln. The first day will go up to the semifinals before the tournament finishes Friday.
